Advancing Women's Careers
The topic of WONA's February online meeting is how we might work together to advance women's careers in the organ professions.
​
From early education (first lessons) to college and graduate school, from first full time jobs to landing (and thriving in) major positions, women have unique experiences and needs.
​
Since it is a discussion topic meeting this month, we hope to hear many divergent voices and thoughts about how we can work together to not only provide encouragement and support, but to actively strengthen women's training and careers.
​
All meetings start at 8pm, with open discussion/social time from 9 to 9:30 pm (all times Eastern).

January 13: Sarah Simko
January's online meeting featured Sarah Simko, who gave an overview of her Living Voices project [link here], and discussed some of her recent programs and lectures focused on organ music by American women composers. A handout was provided.

Welcome to WONA!
About WONA
An exciting new initiative begun in 2024, we are the association of women organists and organ builders in North America.
Purpose
WONA was created to provide regular community, support, and encouragement to our sisters, to hear what our colleagues are doing, and to strengthen our careers in the organ professions.
Monthly Meetings
At present, WONA is organized as a monthly series of zoom meetings, held on the 2nd Monday of each month (8pm Eastern time.) The series alternates between featured Speaker meetings and Topic meetings.

Beginning in January 2025, each 60-minute meeting will be followed by 30 minutes of open discussion and social time.
​
